January 21, 2004altered prceptionsI was toting a pretty good buzz when the sun set behind the trees Thursday night. I was watching it and seeing all kinds of shapes and colors. First, there was a dinosaur trying to eat it, but the light was too big. A huge Irish Terrior appeared to frighten dinosaur away and the dog's whskers turned green. He opened his mouth and green breath came out with every pant. The light was casting off green sparkles in every direction. I was mesmerized. "This is it," said in awe. "This is going to be the Green Flash." "Uh.. Rob... the sun set an hour ago," my companion explained. "You're looking at the porch light down on the dock." I snapped out of that reverie just as if someone had snapped their fingers to de-hypotize me. That wasn't the sun getting ready for a Green Flash. It was a goddam porch light. But that vision sure was good while it lasted.
