I get interesting comments

I like this one:

Is there anything less dignified, more pathetic or unsexy than a grown man throughing (sic)himself a pity party? God, man, call Oprah and see if you can get together for a good cry.
It's one thing to feel as you do, quite another to publish this banal tripe. I'm beginning to see the BC's point of view. You must of been a pain to live with. No wonder she left. Instead of looking at everyone else to blame, maybe it's time to look at yourself. You're a very angry man and you've got no one to blame but yourself.

Dorothy, I can think of quite a few things that are more pathetic and unsexy than what I do on this blog. YOU come to mind, right off the bat.

And if you don't like my "banal" writing, do me a favor. Go to the grocery store, buy youself a cucumber and some KY jelly, then go home and fuck yourself. Bejus knows you can't find a man to do it; otherwise you wouldn't be displaying all of your suppressed frustration here.

Don't like what I do? Then, don't come back here, hear? Just stick with cucumbers.

Comments

WOW. You hit the nail on the head there, Acidman. Dorothy really needs to get laid.

I suppose people prefer that others keep their pain wrapped tightly, which is unhealthy.

If your vents bother the bozo there's one solution for that: *don't read it*.

It's called peronal responsibility.

BTW, can I drop in uninvited, have some of your dinner, and then tell you you're a shitty cook?

Posted by: Texdriver on September 23, 2003 04:59 PM

Yikes..Dorothy needs more then a cucumber.

Posted by: bobbie on September 23, 2003 05:08 PM

I'm laughing my ass off. I'm glad you said something. It's women like her that give us good ones a bad name. I guess BC didn't understand the marriage vows. The preacher should have used small simple words that way she would have understood what in sickness and health meant.

I do not agree with Dorothy, one bit.

One of the things I learned in MY little journey last year was that -- while the participants on the OTHER side might change, the one constant was/is ME. I had a burning need to figure out If there was something that *I was doing to bring misery down upon myself. I needed to figure out what that was. I'm still learning. Stop learning and die.

Personally, I believe you're learning and venting.

Of course, as always, it is just MY opinion. Whatever gets you through the night, Rob. Do it. And fuck anyone who doesn't like it.

Posted by: margi on September 23, 2003 05:12 PM

Hell, what do they always say when someone shoots up their family or workplace or whatever? "He was always so quiet."

Blogging saved my life, emotionally if not literally. Ain't anybody going to hear about me going postal, and ain't going to happen to Acidman either.

Posted by: shell on September 23, 2003 06:31 PM

Give 'em hell, Rob.

I'm so glad I ditched on my psychology major. I'd hate to think that with a little more brainwashing, I'd feel the right to go around telling everyone how to cope within their own lives.

Posted by: Chablis on September 23, 2003 07:58 PM

So what is it about Rob's writing that makes people leave comments like that? Whatever happened to "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all"?

Posted by: Jack on September 23, 2003 08:59 PM

You hit it on the head Chablis. I figured out a long time ago that I really and truly have no fucking business telling other people how to live their lives. I've got enough shit with myself to figure out.
Jack, I've wondered the same thing. I just think that people are afraid when other people speak the brutal honest truth without any reservations. Some people take things too personally when they aren't meant to be. I've learned this through many hard lessons in my life.

Same trolls -- different names.

Posted by: Ally on September 23, 2003 10:25 PM

Uzi-Q, now you've got me wondering how the hell someone who doesn't know the writer from Adam (or Eve, let's practice "diversity" here) can take something personally. I guess I hang out around too many sane people and need to get out more.

Posted by: Jack on September 24, 2003 12:05 AM

You're too kind, A-man. I'd have her use a pineapple and Ben-Gay.

Posted by: J Bowen on September 24, 2003 08:11 AM

Listen you crying pussy poofter. Dorothy don't need no cucumber. She gets all she needs from me and what I got it ain't no crybaby crudite either. But Dorothy thanks you for reposting her comments in your main page. Is there any bait you dumb sumbitch won't take? p.s. The only comment that comes even close to the truth is one left by Ally. Bahahahahaha!

Posted by: Zuccini on September 24, 2003 10:19 AM

Lord knows why I keep trying. I guess it's just because I hate seeing someone so miserable. Some day, maybe, you'll be so low, so wretched, so bottomed out, you'll be willing, as only the willing can be. Here's a little story that may explain it better than I can
"My son, it is between two wolves...
One is filled with anger, hatred, envy, sorrow, regret, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority and ego...
The other is filled with joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith..."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which one wins?"
The old Cherokee simply replied "the one I feed".

Beth,

I suppose that you, with all of your sympathy, empathy and..um...good advice, would have preferred that Rob had been successful in his suicide attempt (which he has chronicled in this blog), instead of working through his anger here.

Then, I suppose, you would be peddling your...um...good advice to some other blogger.

I, among many, am very happy that the attempt was unsuccessful.

Perhaps, in your infinite wisdom, you can show Rob how to do it right.

Having Beth and "Zuchinni" in the world is good for me. I don't feel nearly as fucked-up as I once did when I read them.
